German Cockroach ( Blatella Germanica)

It is 0.5 - 1 cm, brwon and the fastest walking cockroach..It is in light brown colour with vertical dark stripes on it.The package it leaves contains about 40-48 eggs. One female can reach 30.000 breed in a year and it lives for one year.They are dirty and eat everything. They carry and pass any kinds of microbes and dirt. Since they need food and water, they can be seen everwhere human beings live.The primary places they will settle in home are the bathroom and the kitchen. They like the dark and they are active at nights. They are quite strong and gain strength against chemicals very easily.When the first appears, the area should be promptly disinfeected before they can spread.


American Cockroach (Periplanata Americana)

This is the biggest one among others. It is in brownish red colour with wings. They eat everything human beings eat or do not eat. They produce packages with 14-16 eggs in it and they can breed every season.They live in colonies and their life span is 15 months. They like wet, hot and dirty places.They choose the sewerage, boiler rooms, storage, basement, package and such places to live.They carry and pass microbes like Dysentery, Food Poisoning, Tuberculosis, Gasroenteritis, Antrax,Pnomoni,Hepatitis, Fungus, Asthma, Allergic reactions and such other diseases.


Oriental Cockroach (Blatta Orientalis)

It is in bright black colour and 1-1.5 cm long. Male ones have two brown wings. Females are in a oval shape while males are thin built. They are also called Karafatma. They live in basements, storages, sewerage and building spaces. They speread over everywhere with the imcreasing heat. They stay in their nests in winter. Their life span is 6 months. They eat any food and organic materials. They carry and pass microbes such as Dysentery, Food Poisoning, Tuberculosis, Gasroenteritis, Antrax,Pnomoni,Hepatitis, Fungus, Asthma, Allergic reactions and such other diseases.


Ant

There are various catergories around 2-4 mm long, from black to brown or from red to black colour. Those with wings are about 5-8 mm, brown and they have two long wings. They nest at areas close to water, food sources .They nest at frames, window ledges, cracks, holes and in vases. They live in colonies. They cause Salmonellosis and Staphilacoc infections.


Housefly

They are 0.5-1 cm, in black, grey. 100-150 of them leave their eggs in a pile at places containing garbage, fertilizer and such organic materials. The larvae feed on these organic materials and mature and fly in 7-8 days. They breed fast.They feed on any food and wastes. They spread all over the places where human beings live. They carry many microbes on their bodies and spread those around. They leave their feces at the places they go around every 5 minutes.They cause diseases such as Chlolera,Diare,Dysentery,Hepatitis,Poliomyelitis, Food Poisoning,Selmonellosis,Tuberculosis and such.


Mosquito

Among those mosquitos known to have 2700 categories, the most significant ones threatening human health are the 3 categories of Anopheles,Culex and Aedes. They breed in any water ponds clean, hot, cool or dirty. They leave their eggs into the water ponds separately or in groups. Following larvae and pupa stages, they boceme mature in 8-9 days (imago). Males feed on plant sap while females feed on both plant sap and blood to breed. They are active at night.They can fly minimum 3km and accumulate at areas where there are living beings. They play an important role in contagion of diseases such as Malaria, Elephantiasis, Yellow Fever, Nile Fever, Cerebritis and such.



Mite


They are 3-5mm long, in reddish brown colour, flat and oval. They absorb blood sticking on human beings and animals. Mites are found in lawn areas, bushes and animal shelters.They stick on living beings passing through the area. They come into our houses by means of these animals. When females leave their egss into the cracks and splits in the house, they can produce hundreds of eggs in a week.


Spider


They do not cause parasites or diseases. They feed on pillage by eating insects. They are in various types. Their sizes and colours vary depending on the type. Some sting human beings and are poisonous. They generally sting on the neck, hand, face and arm. They nest at dim and dark corners of the houses. There appear two close points where they sting. It leaves a feeling of burning,ache and it itches and swells. It causes fatique, trembling , pulse increase and cold perspiration. There are types seen both at night and daytime while there are types that appear only at nights.


Flea


Mature ones are apporixametely 1-10mm long. They live from a few weeks to one year. Owing to their very strong legs, they can jump up a point 200m higher than their height. They are usuallly in yellowish, brown, dark brown or blackish colours. They vary as animal, human, dust and bird fleas. Fast ones can have 2000 larvaes in a week. Under a convenient tempereature, they evolve in 8-10 days and become fleas. If the tempereature is not enough, this process can take 80-90 days. They absorb blood to breed.Since they can jump on the living beings, they can be carried to anywhere. At nights they interrupt the sleep since they bite.You can see the sting points on the skin. They leave brown stains on clothes. They cause diseases such as Typhus and Plague.


Bedbug


Almost all , especially those that are called as bedbugs, live by absorbing blood of birds and mammals. They ussually come out at nights to absorb blood, other times they hide at places with no light. They are 3-6 mm, with a oval and flat shape in light to brown colours. They have a unique smell resembling whisky. They sting human beings usually from parts of the body not covered. They mature within 6-8 weeks and leave about 200 eggs. They bite huıman beings and absorb blood 5-6 times more than their body weight. Part olf the body they absorb blood through, swells and turn red like an abscess. They are active at nights and attack human beings in sleep. They spread from house to house by means of the households. They pass many diseases like Pasteurella pestis, allergic reactions,M.Leprae,Bacillus anthracis and B.Recurrentin.


Midge


Their small bodies are covered with dense hairs, in dim yellow colur. They are 1,5-3 mm .They live in nature, animal shelters, caves, dim parts of the houses and absorb blood of human beings and animals at nights. They leave their eggs on vegetal and wet wastes. They play an active role in spreading diseases such as Fungus and Typhus. While midge flies can pass diseases throughout the year at tropical regions, they are effective only in hot months under comperatively cold climates. Diseases are seen in hot and dry months in Middle East and Middle Asia and passed to human beings through bites of those midge flies (phlebotomus papatasii). Midge flies are little flies in only a few milimeters size. Only female ones bite. Midge flies feed at nşghts and stay in dark during the day (wall cracks, caves, houses and tree cavities). They leave eggs a few days after they absorb bloos. It takes about 5 weeks for these eggs to turn into winged midges. A mature fly can live a few weeks in a hot environment.



M i c e


House Mice (Mus domesticus)


House mice which are about 12 cm with the exception of the tail, weight about 30 gram. Their noses are in a cylindier shape. Their eyes are small. They have got dense, from brown to grey feathers. Their feces are black, oval and 5-6 mm. They are found at uncrowed and dark parts of the house such as food storages and granary where are paper, cloth and such materials. They mature in 35 days and can breed 5-10 times a year. They can have 5-8 breed at each time. Their breeding time is 18-21 days. They can climb up the walls with a rolugh surface, can jump up to 30 cm high, walk on cables, swim and walk with steps longer than 6mm.


Sewer Rats ( Rattus norvegicus)

 

Sewer rats which are about 25-28 cm with the exception of the tail, weight about 500 gram.Their noses are blunt. Their ears and eyes are small. Their fur is rough and brown.: Both ends of their feces are blunt and ,n capsule shape. Their fences are about 20mm . Sewer rats, mostly, live aoutside the buildings, underground which may be beneath the rubbish piles, concrete formations, railroads and by river side. Sewer rats that mature in about 2-5 months, can produce 3-6 seeds in a year and have 7-8 breed at each time. Yaklaşık 2-5 ayda erişkin hale gelen lağım sıçanı yılda 3-6 döl verir ve her bir batında 7-8 yavru doğurur. Their smelling and hearing senses have extremely developed. They can pass through holes bigger than 12 mm.


Attic Rats ( Rattus rattus )


With the exception of the tail, they are about 20-25 cm long and weight about 300 gram. Their noses are angular..Compared with sewer rats, they have bigger ears, bigger eyes and darker brown hair. Their feces has a sharper end than sewer rats'. They live inside the buildings, attics, basement,woodshed,rubbish heap and such places.They become matured within about 4 months. They breed 4-6 times in a year and have 4-8 larvaes in each generation. Their climbing ability is highly developed.They can pass through holes bigger than 12mm easily.
